What Counts as a Dental Emergency? (And What to Do)
Knocked-out teeth, swelling and severe pain need care fast. Here is what counts as a dental emergency and what to do until you are seen.
Porcelain veneers in Ontario are commonly priced at roughly $1,000 to $2,500 per tooth. The total depends on how many teeth you are treating, the material, and whether any other work is needed first. This is a general range, not a quote. A consultation is the only way to know your cost.
Composite veneers are shaped directly on the tooth and usually cost less, but they can chip and stain more easily. Porcelain veneers are made in a lab, look very natural, and generally last longer with good care.
Veneers are usually considered cosmetic, so most dental plans do not cover them. If a veneer is needed to repair a damaged tooth, part of the cost may be covered. Check your plan, and ask our front desk to help.
A veneer covers the front of a tooth. A crown covers the whole tooth and is used when a tooth is weak or heavily restored. Your dentist will recommend the option that protects your tooth best.
With good care, porcelain veneers often last many years. Avoid biting very hard objects, wear a night guard if you grind your teeth, and keep up with regular checkups.
